Easy Scalloped Cake Tutorial

I have seen a few decorating tutorials on how to make a cake with the scalloped outside using the time consuming butter knife technique. It is simply a waste of time and I would advise you to learn this method instead. I wanted to shed light on the REAL (and easier) way to do it. So save yourself hours and hours of time and go out and buy yourself a nice large piping bag and round tip.

First, fill the bag about half way with buttercream. The best part about this technique is that it can be done with any size piping tip! Please keep in mind this and many other cake decorating techniques take time and practice, practice and then more practice.  P.S. Keep a damp paper towel nearby to make sure to keep the tip clean.  So without further delay...

Here are the different piping tips brought to you by wilton. I used A1 for the cake pictured at the top of this post. Happy decorating!
